Description

Now a solo project of Canadian producer Gordon Huntley following the sad passing of former creative partner Pierce Fulton in late 2021, Leaving Laurel specialises in - to use label Anjunabeats words - "introspective melodic electronic music". On album number three, Our Lives Entwined, Huntley retreats further into musical daydreaming and melody-rich inspiration, offering a more polished and colourful sound that combines nods to tuneful and expansive progressive house, sparkling electronica, emotive downtempo grooves, mid-tempo breaks, ambient and loved-up dancefloor glossiness. While Huntley frequently reaches for a more bittersweet sound, it stills feels like a vibrant and warming ray of sonic sunshine.
